Medium Tier

This tier is for areas where national restrictions continue to be in place.

Can I still go and stay in a holiday property?

Yes, in a group of 6 or less people but you must not stay with anyone you do not live with from a very high alert level area or visit their home.

It is advised that anyone living elsewhere avoids staying overnight in a very high alert area where possible, except for those who need to for work, education or caring responsibilities.

High Tier

This is for areas with a higher level of infections where some additional restrictions are in place.

Can I still go and stay in a holiday property?

Yes but must not socialise with anybody outside of your household or support bubble in any indoor setting, whether at home or in a public place and you should avoid travelling to any part of the country subject to very high local COVID alert levels.

You can still travel within high alert level areas to hotels and other guest accommodation, but you should only do this with people in your household or support bubble.

You can still go on holiday outside of high alert level areas, but you must only do this with people in your household or support bubble.

Very High Tier

This is for areas with a very high level of infections and where tighter restrictions are in place. The restrictions placed on areas with a very high level of infections can vary, and are based on discussions between central and local government.

Can I still go and stay in a holiday property?

If you live in a very high alert level area it is asked that you avoid staying overnight in another part of the UK.

If you are resident in a very high alert level area, you may travel to hotels and other guest accommodation within that area but you should only do this with people in your household or support bubble.

This means you are advised not to leave the very high alert level area to stay in a second home, if you own one. You must not stay with anyone you do not live with elsewhere in the UK or visit their home.
