Banner Image Alt Text

Banners are the landscape images that stretch the width of the screen and sit at the top of your website. You can add different banners to appear for different types of pages.

Your website will automatically assign Alt text to your banners based upon the pages title - however it is recommended that you add your own descriptive text that explains what the image actually is.

Image Alt Text provides content in a text based format, is used by Search Engines to understand what the image is, whilst it is also read aloud by screen readers.

You can add Alt Text to a Banner when you initially upload it, or can retrospectively edit existing Alt Text for Banners already on your site. The following Banners exist on your website:

Property Banners

A Property Banner will appear at the top of the pages related to that Property. For example the Overview, Things To Do, Extras, Gallery and Calendar.

You can edit or add a new Property Banner by going to:
Properties > Select a Property > Banners

If you don't have any Property Banners, your site will randomly pull images from your Gallery and use them instead.

Site Banners

A Site Banner is used on your homepage, Contact page and Site Content pages.

You can edit or add new Site Banners by going to:
Site Settings > Banners

Holiday Idea Banners

Each Holiday Idea can have it's own Banner, and this is recommended to distinguish it from other pages on your website. You can also add Captions that will display on the page itself.

To Add or Edit Holiday Idea Banners simply go
Site Content > Holiday Ideas > Images > Banner Images

Destination Banners

Similar to Site and Holiday Idea Banners, a Destination Banner will sit at the top of a Destination Page.

You can edit the Caption or Alternative Text for a Destination Banner by going to:
Site Content > Destinations

A Destination page will by default use a Site Banner if there are no specific Banners uploaded for that page.

Blog Article Banners

The Banner for a Blog Article will appear on the article itself, as well as the /blog page where all articles are listed.

These can be added or edited for existing pages via:
Site Content > Edit > scroll to the bottom
